Renowned Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Appearances in The Middle and Friends, Passes Away at the Age of Sixty.

US performer Finn, who was seen in beloved TV shows including Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has died at 60 years old.

The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California on Monday having undergone cancer treatment from 2022 onward, according to reports.

"He considered no one a stranger - solely future friends he didn't know yet," his family stated in a message.

They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".

A Prolific Career on Screen

His debut TV appearance was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.

He also had a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" in the latter half of the 1990s.

He played the part of Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a host famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.

During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of popular shows, like:

  • "King of Queens"
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House

He was most recognized for portraying the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight series from 2011 to 2018.

His film credits include It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

A Life in Improv

Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was involved with a six-person improv troupe called Beer Shark Mice.

"Finn guided, supported, and advised countless students throughout the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find a person who has an unkind word to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

Offering condolences, fellow actor Richard Kind said there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," Kind wrote publicly.

Pat Finn is survived by his spouse Donna, his children, and his family.
