Much like Storm Claudia hit the north-west the previous evening, City swept the visitors aside at the Etihad. It was a statement three-nil win for Andrée Jeglertz’s side thanks to goals from Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Hemp. It was a display that clearly signaled their title credentials as they consolidated their standing at the top of the table.

Successive Setbacks for United

This outcome marked back-to-back WSL losses for Marc Skinner’s side for the first time since spring 2024, placing them a sizable gap off the top team with their trophy ambitions severely dented.
