Iranian Forces State Assault on American Facility in Bahrain, Amid Widespread Counterattacks.
Iran's military claims to have hit a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed operations across the region in response for a "massive" and continuing offensive targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area in the area of the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any damage is uncertain and the American officials has yet to issue a statement.
Airspace Engagements
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - stated they have intercepted missiles in their air space.
In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry announced it had successfully engaged several missiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was striking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the attack on Iran initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That preceding assault - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on locations linked to the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the Iranian people to rise up against the leadership.
Additional Developments
In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israeli military said it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the UAE announced that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems engaged the missiles with high efficiency and destroyed a number of missiles," the statement continued.
It said wreckage fell on a residential area in the capital, causing some structural damage and killing a civilian.
The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
